CMDDA/MIFT - Message from President’s desk      

 
Welcome all.

I thank all of you who attended our AGM on March 01st, 2008 and welcome all the members who signed up for life membership this year. We look forward to other members to become life members by paying the $100.00 life membership to the treasurer -and join us officially if you haven’t done this yet.

We appreciate your commitment and ongoing support and look forward for your active participation in the future to improve the function of this organization.

As you know we have now completed 10 years and looking for ways to expand our scope and services to the community.

I take this opportunity to thank the outgoing President Dr Giri & the Secretary

Dr Sesha and of course the other Board members who served in the board many years for their tireless commitment in the growth of this organization.

We had our first Board meeting on March 21, 2008. We have planned the following activities for the year.   

-Our annual summer picnic will take place late June/early July – await further details from our coordinators.

-Please look forward to our next health forum in May/June 2008 in Markham this time– your ideas/contributions welcome-Please contact Dr Rajes Logan/any other Board member with your ideas
-Our next Nalamthana magazine issue will also be released at this forum-Please contact the editors with your ideas to improve this magazine.

-We are also going to improve our communication with the general membership by enhancing our website/CMDDA,MIFT yahoo discussion group. Please pay attention to the messages and respond as you feel appropriate.

-Please visit our website and encourage other members to visit and join in: www.tamildoctors.org.

 I also have another important message to share with you– years of hard work by some board members has paid off and now we have the approval for CMDDA to operate as a charitable organization with  limited objectives.

With our current operational needs- as decided at the AGM we will operate CMDDA as the charitable arm and MIFT as the nonprofit arm of our organization.

You could now make donations to CMDDA and receive charitable tax receipts!

So open your valets and donate generously to help with our objectives

Could you also bring us any health care related community project proposals/ Tsunami related/ otherwise to our attention. These projects need to come with proper estimates, and project completion guarantee from recognized sources - registered non profit/NGO/Charitable groups/organization/health care admin.

Please contribute/participate in our community education sessions- Health forums, Magazine etc. We may also restart our TVI – Nalamthana program as an interactive medical program soon-wait for details
We also look forward to more new graduate/student member contribution this year
