PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

I feel honored to present this report in the capacity of President of this esteemed organization. On behalf of the committee, I would like to sincerely thank all members for their dedication and commitment. Your hard work is a testament as to what CMDDA is today.

As I took over the reins for another year, my mission was to focus on the charitable status of our organization. With much uphill struggles, willpower and determination, I am proud to pronounce, CMDDA has attained Charitable Status, as of February 1st 2008. All donations made to the organization will be granted tax credit to both Individuals and Corporations. It will enhance our ability to seek potential sponsors for future fundraising endeavors. CMDDA will operate as an independent body. Members of the association will be granted honorary MIFT membership, also a self governing organization.  

The life membership fee was decreased to $100.00 with the conscent of the general body. I strongly approach the members to consider this option of life membership as opposed to an annual fee of $ 50.00. The advantages are immense. Firstly, it will reduce administrative costs. Secondly, “Strength by numbers”. A larger pool of committed members.   Creating a stronger and an active networking forum and the potential to approach sponsors, such as, pharmaceutical companies and businesses to meet our humanitarian goals and vision. Lastly, life members will be acknowledged on the CMDDA web page.

In closing, I would like to thank the Executive Committee for rallying together as a team
in accomplishing our goals. We all understood each others strengths and weaknesses, which we never doubted or questioned but, acknowledged with gratitude. These past two years have been an immense success. It has been a joy, a pleasure and a privilege to have leaded such a wonderful and warm team. It is individuals such as you that make an association what it is!!!

As I hand over the reins to Dr.Santhakumar my successor, I wish him all the very best in the years ahead. It is definitely an honor and a privilege to lead this association. I am looking forward to working closely with the new Board of Directors in the capacity of Past President.
